Big thanks to the people on my patreon discord server who gave me the idea to draw Pear Butter! She’s a cutie and it was a lot of fun to draw her. I tried a bunch of new things, I hope it shows!
Sorry for being kinda inactive lately, I’m still dealing with health issues, but I’m getting there. Trying to draw every day now and getting things done! Also huge thanks to everyone who met me at furcon and said hi and everything, I had an absolute blast!
Babscon will be in a month and a half, I hope I’ll see some of you there! In the meanwhile I’ll try to post art more regularly again!

From the looks of it though the others won’t change save for their races. It’s like… why do the other fans get to keep their waifus? :/
Keep in mind this is still all very early concept art in super early stages of planning, nothing has been confirmed yet! Hell, I’m not even sure if it’s real. We haven’t even seen all the mane six yet. But from what I’ve read, the others will change too. I suspect they’re all going to be pretty much completely new characters with similarities to their old counterparts.
No reason to be unhappy about some distant possibility. Plus I rather embrace things that make me happy and bring me joy than to be sad or angry about something I have no influence over.
I thought the design is cute when I saw it, it reminded me of the AJ I love and I wanted to draw a cute picture that makes me happy.
That is one hell of an over-designed OC.
Word, lol. And that’s after I toned down her original manestyle a little bit!

Yeah, I do. And it’s very sad. I love AJ a lot and I’ll miss her. But I figured that’s what people felt when G4 happened. Suddenly Rainbow Dash is a competitive tomboy? A silly white pegasus named Surprise is suddenly a pink earth pony called Pinkie Pie? Applejack is a hardworking farmer and not a silly klutzy pony anymore?
So yeah, I’ll miss “our” AJ. So much. But I’m also ready to fall in love with completely new characters all over again. Even if they have the same name as some of my most favorite characters ever.
And hey, we’ll get at least 2 more seasons with the AJ we know and love, that’s nice, too!

My dad passed away earlier this week. It wasn’t completely out of the blue. I’ll be okay. But I was the last real family he had, so I’ll be busy taking care of some things and it might take longer than usual to get a reply from me for the next week or two. I’d appreciate the patience. I’ll still try to get a nice picture done for Christmas, I’ve found that drawing is a nice distraction right now, there’s just not too much time available.
A small birthday present that I drew today for a very good friend. I’m pretty sure he likes rats even more than I do, unbelievably. So not a pony for once!
I’m out of town, helping my wife with her work right now, so I only had access to traditional drawing supplies today. It’s not really my preferred medium, I miss ctrl+z and ctrl+t, haha! Still I really like how this turned out and wanted to share it with you. I hope you guys like it.
