Today I learned that nightmares are called that because there’s a legend of literal night mares who come steal your nice dreams.
And apparently the german word for nightmares is also the name for those horses in german. Somehow I think that’s all kind of awesome.
I feel so stupid right now. I only now got the name “Nightmare Moon”.
Nightmare.
Night.
Mare.
Oh my god it’s so simple and silly and clever and I can’t believe I didn’t catch that until now. Nightmare is a super silly word now for me, too.
…I think I have to turn in my English language badge, now. :(
TFW no one notices that RD’s wings are missing. And me and Tcherno looked at variations of that picture for a long time.
At least I can say it’s just a rough concept to get the idea across and I was totally aware that the wings are missing.
But seriously, that happens so much to me, why is it so easy to forget about drawing wings?
I’m drawing a commission for Tcherno at the moment, and it’s still in the sketching phase and we both played around with the idea to make it an animation and not a single picture, but ultimately decided against it since it would be too much work to make it less static and less choppy. So it will just be a single, normal picture in the end.
But I do like the very rough concept animation I did enough to share with y'all. So enjoy!
And I still cringe every time Dash hits AJ’s cervix… >< But the customer is always right, after all. :p

After I did my last watersports picture, someone explained to me how much a real horse urinates, and suddenly the phrase “peeing like a horse” made so much more sense to me. Since this day this image here floated around in my head and I finally came around to draw it.
Seriously, rendering pee is way more fun than it should be.

Hahaha, I also had huge trouble to recognize my own. Especially because I draw them differently now. I instantly recognized CL and yours ecmajor, though.
I’m strangely flattered to be included in such a list, though! But they could’ve included some more distinct styles, like dimwitdog, doxy and kevinsano. At least them I would’ve recognized and I wouldn’t be a filthy casual. :(

Commission for Cloperella’s OC! Was a lot of fun to do, she’s kinda cute! And it was interesting to try my hands on a slender/really thin pony for once.

Because.
Since I didn’t had the motivation to start something new during one of my livestreams, I instead started to clean up a silly sketch of mine. Over the next couple of days I started to add more and more stuff each time I needed a break from commissions/other projects. It was definitely a whole lot of fun to work on and I kinda like the finished product, even though I’m not completely happy with Rarity’s expression. But I want to try new poses and expressions and leave my comfort zone as often as possible to grow as an artist.

Because sometimes, ice cream is by far the best thing to make you happy. Sometimes, good friends forget about birthdays and have to draw something quick that ends up taking hours. Because sometimes, it’s the thought that counts. Sometimes it’s worth backing up that thought with actions.
