Hi everyone!
I hope you guys are doing well. I’m sorry for disappearing off the face of the world.
I’ve physically felt unwell for the last few months now. It has gotten massively worse the past few weeks. To the point where it became crippling 2 weeks ago and I couldn’t find the energy to get anything done anymore. If you follow my twitter (@RatofDrawn) you might have noticed.
So I went to see my doctor when it got really bad and after a few tests they found out what’s wrong with me. I’m on medication now and everything but the doctor said it could take up to 6 weeks to feel better again. To be honest, it’s been pretty terrible and I’m really happy it’s gonna be better. I just want to feel healthy again and be able to work on things.
I don’t know how long I’ll be out of it. Hopefully not too long. But for for now there won’t be any real updates until at least next month. I still barely have any energy. I’m terribly sorry for this. I have some sketches I did during BLFC that I haven’t posted yet, I’ll do that over the next few days. So there’s at least some “new” art for you guys soon.
Anyways, I hope you understand. And I’m really sorry for not communicating with you guys.
I’ll keep you updated. Thank you for listening.

All of my close friends do know about my art in some way or another, tho. So it wasn’t an issue telling them. For friends who are less close or for family we just tell them we met because we were both in the same fandom, most of the time we also say it’s because of ponies, just no details, haha. Our wedding also had some subtle pony references (Appledash cake topper, our friend who was the officiant made some references in his speech, each table was the colors of one of the mane six, etc).
So yeh, in general people know we met because we’re both into art or ponies and that’s how we started talking on Skype and then met up in real life for the first time at a convention in New York! (Bronycon ‘12)
Oh and that reminds me of something! One of my wife’s friends apparently was aware of my blog, so after we started dating and it turned serious and she told her friend about me, the friend was all like “wait a second, are you talking about Rat?” The world is small.

We started talking 5 years ago because I drew fanart for one of her clopfics about Appledash. And now we’re married. So, she approves! :D
Also, I’m sorry for the onslaught of advertising posts lately! I feel bad about not having new art ready.
It’s my wife’s birthday tomorrow, so we’re going on a day trip to celebrate. But as soon as I’m back I’ll be back at drawing full time again and can hopefully finally start posting those half-finished pictures I’m working on! If you’ve been in my streams lately, you probably saw me working on four or five of them, haha.
Alright, I took inventory and I’m ready for the after con sale 2017! I had a few people asking about this and I’m sorry for the delay! The first picture is the postcard set I had at Babscon this year, you’ll get all 3 postcards for free if you order anything and I’ll write a love note or something on the back of one!
Second picture are my new big prints for this year, RD and Lyra are 13x19, the rest 11x17. The third picture are my old 11x17 prints and the fourth picture are my old 8.5x11 prints. The old prints are discounted and I have only very limited supply left. I won’t reprint most of the old prints once they’re gone, so last chance to pick some of these up!
The last picture shows all of the buttons I have available. I need to get a lightbox setup so I can take better pictures of the buttons.
Apologizes for the terrible cellphone quality pictures. The prints are high quality, sturdy paper and the colors are deep and saturated, the photos really don’t do them justice.
