It’s not too different from the Mary, to be honest, but there are some interesting differences: The Sugar Star is less cumbersome to handle, it’s not as heavy and the material around the entrance isn’t as massive. Also, the most important improvement: the texture inside is noticeably more pleasurable to me than the Mary. It feels more intense, but in a ‘softer’ way, if that makes sense? Like, the texture inside is more rounded and has lots of little super soft round nubs and whatnot, while the Mary feels a little bit more jagged. Also the texture in the Sugar Star begins right after the entrance, while in the Mary there’s a little bit of untextured stretch after the entrance. So that’s a big plus! 

The Mary is very tight, I feel if I’d have just a little bit of a bigger girth I’d be worried of hurting myself. Sugar Star feels super tight, too, but it doesn’t feel restricting like Mary does, I think the material is stretchier and softer? Maybe I’m also imagining things, tho. But I definitely had to use less lube on Sugar Star than I usually use on Mary, but it still needs a lot of lube and it’s still very tight, but in a good way. 

If you’re on the bigger side, I would definitely check out the Bad Dragon forum for some reviews of folks who have a big girth, tho. I know Mary doesn’t work well if you were above average, and while I suspect Sugar Star works better, I can’t say for sure since my girth is on the smaller side. Sugar Star definitely feels less rigid and restricting, tho!

So yeah, in terms of how it feels, I like Sugar Star more! The inside texture is definitely superior to me, but I think the cosmetic outside texture of the clit and everything is a bit prettier on the Mary. If you already own a Mary, I don’t think it’s worth to upgrade, since they’re really not that different. But if you were thinking about getting a Mary but you never did, I would definitely recommend the Sugar Star instead. It’s a fun toy.

Also, I’m not sure if I’m imagining it, but Sugar Star’s material feels less cold than Mary, I know with the Mary it felt like penetrating ice if I didn’t run it under hot water first.

I’d give the Mary probably a 6/10 while Sugar Star gets a 7/10! I’m happy that the texture feels that different and more pleasurable, I was afraid it was going to feel too similar!
