Rat's Saucy Nest

I realized I never posted the 2nd half of my Inktober Drawings to tumblr. Here’s a link to the first half! I only posted them on my Twitter (follow me, btw!), sorry for that! The theme for all those drawings was basically female characters that I admire. Anyways, a real new picture should come soon, I’m super busy with the holidays and an upcoming move, but I have a bunch of stuff almost ready to go! For now I hope you’ll enjoy those little doodles if you haven’t seem then yet.

11: Drawn on October 11th, National Coming Out Day. Which inspired me to draw the first bi-sexual female character that came to mind.

12: Rainbow Dash, duh! The bestest and laziest procrastinator.

13: The Chimaera. Ships are traditionally female, so she counts. She was the flagship of Thrawn, helped defend the Imperial Remnant capital against the Yuuzhan Vong and was pretty much part of a lot old Star Wars canon. I grew up reading about this ship for years.

14+15: Lyra and Bonbon, I think they’re cute and I love seeing them every time in the background in an episode.

16: Hedwig. First time I’ve ever drawn an owl. Owls creep me out, but I liked Hedwig. Can’t believe a stupid book made me cry over a stupid owl.

17: Gidget from the very forgettable movie Pets! But that was just a few days after I saw the movie and I liked her in it. I identify with her. She’s insane.

18: Ori. I got tired of the inking style, so I wanted to try out something new. Really, really love how this turned out. I’m proud of myself for it. Need to try more in that style someday.

19: Undyne. Fish waifu. Loved her character a lot, and her interaction with Papyrus were amazing. The phone calls with her and Papyrus were my favorite parts of Undertale.

20: Mimikyu, I loved this Pokemon since it was first introduced. I really like Pikachu and the idea of a Pokemon disguising itself as Pikachu so it won’t be hated is just adorable. I have had a (female) Pikachu in my Pokemon teams ever since I started playing 20 years ago. Now in Sun I also have a female Mimikyu. I know the real Mimikyu doesn’t have gender differences, but I thought the idea of one specifically dressing up as a female Pikachu was cute. Hence this picture!

Anyways, sorry for the wall of text! I hope you guys like some of the drawings.

I’ve been doing small 1h drawings for Inktober over on my Twitter every day thus far! The theme for all of the pictures is basically “female characters that are important to Rat”. Trying out different styles and ideas, as well!

Short description of all 10:

1. Duh. Applejack, my waifu. Fell in love with her from the very first episode on. I remember I had trouble understanding her accent at first. She’s still my favorite pony by far.
   
2. Female Pikachu! I had a Pikachu in my team in every single Pokemon game I played. After Gen 1 they were always female, too.
   
3. Jaina Solo. She doesn’t technically exist anymore since Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, but she was and still is my favorite fictional character. I’ve grown up with her, I’ve started reading Star Wars in the late 90s, and the first Star Wars book I’ve ever read featured her birth. And I’ve read dozens of novels where she appears since. I feel like I’ve grown up together with this fictional character. She’ll always be important to me. The picture is based upon a statue of her that I own. Drawing humans is hard.
   
4. Alphys. She’s a quirky, annoying, slightly insane and overweight lizard. I identify with her a lot.
   
5.  Commander Shepard. Wonderful game series, FemShep was a wonderful character, great voice acting and everything. I need to replay the series before Andromeda.
   
6. Rarity! Also a character I admire. Similar and completely different reasons as for why I like Applejack.
   
7. Vulpix. My favorite Pokemon. At ComicCon I saw an artist doing these watercolor-sketches of Pokemon, I wish I’d remember his name. The style was beautiful and it can’t stop thinking about it. Tried to emulate his style with this Vulpix. Thinking about getting a tattoo in a similar style one day maybe.
   
8. GLaDOS, love her humor.
   
9. Drew this while watching the last Presidential Debate and I was inspired.
   
10. Navi. Even almost 20 years later, I still hear her voice clearly in my head every once in awhile.
