Doing taxes as someone who’s self-employed is so incredibly frustrating :(

Hey everyone. Just a small update about my personal life. If you follow me on Twitter or are on my patreon Discord server you might have already heard.

My dad passed away earlier this week. It wasn’t completely out of the blue. I’ll be okay. But I was the last real family he had, so I’ll be busy taking care of some things and it might take longer than usual to get a reply from me for the next week or two. I’d appreciate the patience. If you need to get into contact, my email is RatofDrawn [at] gmail[dot] com and I’ll probably see emails sooner than tumblr messages.

Thank you.

I’ll still try to get a nice picture done for Christmas, I’ve found that drawing is a nice distraction right now, there’s just not too much time available.

I'm very curious on how you got into pony porn. It seems like a huge abnormality to become aquatinted with.
ratofponi ratofponi Said:

I’ve always been into drawn porn of all kind! I remember when I was a kid, about 18 years ago or so, I looked up Pokemon porn, since I had a crush on Misty and I also liked seeing porn of the Pokemon themselves, always thought it was creative and intriguing. I was also massively into Maid Marian from the Disney Robin Hood. Or Lion King’s Nala. Or [insert any intriguing female character from the 90s] So seeing Rule 34 of media I liked wasn’t anything new to me. In fact I often ended up specifically looking for it.

The same thing happened after I started watching MLP in early 2011. I actively went out of my way to look for MLP porn. And since there wasn’t enough out there for my taste, I started drawing my own!

So for me personally it never was a huge abnormality to become acquainted with. I always liked drawn porn of fictional characters, for as far back as I can remember, and it never made a difference to me if the character was human, anthropomorphized animal, made-up creature or feral animal.

Hey everyone! Just a small update.

Babscon was great! Huge thanks to everyone who came by to say hi. I met so many amazing people and you all were so nice to me, I really appreciate it. I started to write a little shoutout to all the great people I met, but after about a dozen names I realized I’m nowhere near done and I must’ve forgotten a few people already, so have a general thank you to everyone instead! It did really mean the world to me, it’s great meeting people who like my art and just in general to hang out with nice people. I had so much fun!

My wife and I also met Ashleigh Ball and kinda told her how her and I met because we were doing fanart of Appledash and everything (sans the porn). She was super nice while we spilled our spaghetti all over her.

Sadly I caught the flu at the con, so I was pretty sick for a few days afterwards, and then I infected my wife and she was pretty sick for a few days, hence why I was pretty quiet the last few days.

But now it’s back to drawing! I hope I can start posting new things really soon. As usual I have about six pieces in various stages of finishedness that I’m working on right now. I’ll start streaming ASAP again as well, so stay tuned!

Some people have been asking if I’m going to do another After Babscon Sale, and I’ll try to set it up in the next few days, but I want to finish some new art first! I’ll try to post it this week!

Pokemon Sun is so much fun. I love the game. So many new cute and awesome Pokemon and the quality of life improvements are great! <3 Salandit! Took me like an hour to find a female one. Can’t wait to encounter a Alolan Vulpix.

I might draw some smut in the near future, haha.

If you’re playing as well, drop me a message with your friendcode if you want to add me as a friend and I’ll send mine back!

Aww. I think we have pretty good cheese. Not all of it of course. But, you know, there's bad brands and such everywhere. 'American' Cheese, the slice stuff calling itself that, is legitimately pretty bad though. For some reason it works on sandwiches- but that's it. Still, I think we've got decent cheddar, swiss, colby-jack, provolone, mozzarella, and parmesan available in most places. Maybe try various brands or a nice deli?
ratofponi ratofponi Said:

Oh yeh, I know! There’s some pretty good cheese over here, but it will never come close to stuff from back home for me personally. I prefer italian Parmesan and Mozzarella, but the American brands are pretty good as well! Same for Brie, nothing beats the real deal, but some American brands are very good. I do like American Provolone a lot, though! And Colby-Jack is nice. Sadly not a big fan of Cheddar, and that stuff is everywhere. :( “Cheese flavor” seems to be synonymous with Cheddar, haha. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a high quality brand of Cheddar tho, so my perception is probably warped in that regard.

Fun fact, what you guys call “Swiss cheese” is actually only one (and in my eyes not even the best, by far) of several hugely popular varieties of cheeses from Switzerland. If you ever get the chance, try Gruyere! It’s my absolute favorite cheese from Switzerland. Safeway/Vons stocks real imported Gruyere, sadly it’s criminally expensive.

Also secret cheese pro tip lifehack: Try combining cheese with jam. It’s super tasty!

Anyways, time for sleep! Night guys, it was fun talking about random stuff with you. I hope I didn’t annoy anyone.

Have you ever had American chocolate? Like Hershey's milk chocolate?
ratofponi ratofponi Said:

I don’t remember if I ever specifically had Hershey’s. I’m not supposed to eat sugar, so I try to stay away. I do remember having some Reese’s and other american chocolate products, tho!

They didn’t quite taste like what we had back home. But I see some imported Swiss and German (theirs is good too!) chocolate brands in grocery stores here in the US all the time! Lindt is pretty nice. Or Milka. In my opinion as someone who doesn’t really eat sweets!

Also the cheese here is mostly a sad excuse for fermented milk :( And real imported Swiss or Italian cheese costs an arm and a leg. But otherwise food is pretty amazing here in the US. Love the variety and all the different cuisines. So many options!

Edit: Love how fitting your username is!

So do you sound like Mercy or Torb? XD

Well they’re both Swedish and mercy primarily speaks german(from what people tell me). Did you happen to run into Riens VA? See who does a better impression xP

Mercy is Swiss. Switzerland and Sweden aren’t the same thing, even tho it seems to be a very common misconception for some reason!

Switzerland is small, located south of Germany, has a big white plus on a red square as a flag, is famous for their neutrality. For cheese, chocolate, clocks. Ricola and Toblerone. Also snow and the Alps and CERN. Also bank accounts. Swiss people speak either German, Italian, French or Retoromanic.

Sweden is big, north of Europe, has a yellow cross on a blue flag, famous for Ikea, ABBA, Volvo and socialist policies. Also hot blonde women. They speak Swedish.

The more you know!

Now I feel stupid =_=

Haha, don’t worry. Like I said, it’s a super common misconception sadly. The more people that are educated the better!

I would love to know where the misconception comes from, tho. I always wondered.

Back home from my very first SDCC! It was absolutely amazing and super exhausting!

I met the mane six cast (minus Tabitha) and talked a tiny bit with Ashleigh. She didn’t remember me of course, but she commented on my accent and aaah, she’s awesome. <3

Also randomly ran into Robert Picardo and shook his hand! Loved the EMH in Voyager and he was super nice. Got a bunch of great merch, lots of free stuff and bought some nice art as well. A super gorgeous D.Va print was one of them and also an adorable Applejack. I’ll take some pic of my office soon, once I finish hanging up all the new art! I also attended some panels, I’m super excited for a lot of new shows and games now! And I met some of my favorite webcomic artists.

I don’t think I’ve ever walked that much (my phone says 50 miles) while simultaneously somehow spending most of my time in a line for something!

Anyways, I just wanted to give a quick update! If you follow me on Twitter, you saw all my fangasming over the con already. I’m back drawing again now, I’ll try to stream tomorrow at around noon as well as on Friday to catch up on missed time! As usual, I’m almost done with a bunch of art and can hopefully post some stuff very soon.

Also I didn’t log in to tumblr once during those past 7 days, if I missed something awesome, please let me know!

Pokémon Go is insane! I was hanging out in a park with about a 100 other people in the middle of the night, catching Pokémon. At one point someone yelled “There’s a Scythor here!” and everyone came running towards it. It was amazing!

Also there are so many players everywhere. Drop a lure at a Pokestop and within minutes a small group of people gathered!

It’s a lot of fun and the community is great, it’s awesome to meet so many people who are caught in the same craziness.

Also, go team Valor!

(New art is coming really soon, I promise! I’m hoping tomorrow. I’m so sorry for being slow.)

Celebrated with some fireworks tonight! I was worried we were gonna accidentally burn the flag… Anyways! Wheeee!

I just saw Finding Dory, and the short they played in front, Piper, was absolutely amazing and totally stole the show. I hope they’ll release it in full soon, can’t wait to watch it over and over. It was super adorable!

I like birds.

Hey guys! Just a small update from my life. I am on a road trip down to LA to the wedding of some friends of mine right now. I’ll be in Disneyland for the first time in my life. I’m excited! Here’s hoping I see an official Judy fursuit there.

Afterwards my wife and I are gonna drive up to Reno to attend BLFC next weekend. I hope I’ll see some of you guys there! It’s an amazing furry con and I couldn’t recommend it more, it was absolutely amazing last year. The resort it is at is great, too. Free mini golf, bowling, go karts, there’s a huge casino, movie theaters, etc! And of course furry porn everywhere. I’ll have some (pony and non-pony) smut pieces in the art show there. And if you’ll see me walking around, come say hi! Here’s hoping I see an unofficial Judy fursuit there.

Anyways, sadly all that means that I won’t be able to stream or draw anything else than sketches until I’m back in a week and a half. I’m sorry! I hope you guys understand! I’ll draw a whole lot once I’m back, I have multiple unfinished pieces that are almost ready to be posted!

Have some pictures of stuff I did on my way down to southern California thus far instead. And some penguins fucking as an added bonus, lol.

Just some quick info, I’m gonna go to the taping of 2 Penn and Teller: Fool Us episodes tomorrow and on Friday in Las Vegas. I’m so excited for this little trip!

But sadly that also means there won’t be any livestream on Friday, I’ll try to stream once I’m back on Saturday instead! And I probably won’t be able to reply to emails and stuff until I’m back either.

If you’re interested, I’ll probably post some updates and details about the trip on my twitter.

Anyways, I’ll see you guys again in a few days! I’m so excited! Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Hey Brae, it's the guy who asked about the concept of "gay". I wanna rephrase the question to narrow down what I meant the first time: How should I approach the idea of love, as in looking for and finding a partner and developing relationships?
ratofponi ratofponi Said:

askbraeburned:

I’d say not to look for love. Instead, look for friends.

If you go looking for love, every little relationship you enter will have that pressure of an end goal. So make friends instead! Not aloof perfect gorgeous beings you want to see yourself married to, but people who you like hanging out and playing video games with. People you can walk around with in Walmart for an hour and have a surprisingly great time. Work to make friends, not potential future lovers. Then later, maybe that friend you’ve had forever actually ends being the one you wanna be with.

So, yeah! Don’t start by flirting, don’t start by sorting by appearance. Start by finding people you just naturally like talking to, I think!

Can confirm. I found love when I stopped looking for it. Friends are also more valuable than potential romantic interests. And it’s definitely not too rare that love develops out of a close friendship. Just don’t go into a friendship hoping for it to develop into a romantic relationship.

As for the Walmart part, that’s what struck a chord with me and made me reblog this. I realized I found someone really special in the woman I ended up marrying when we were walking around in a Walmart at midnight and were having an amazing time. And to this day, every time we go grocery shopping or doing some other mundane everyday life stuff we’re still having a great time. Because I got married to one of my best friends. And seriously, when a friendship doesn’t end up turning into a romantic relationship, that’s no loss at all. You’ll have something invaluable and powerful, a real friendship.

I never quite understood the people who formed a romantic relationship with someone they wouldn’t want to be friends with in the first place. And sadly that’s awfully common.

Brae giving A1 life advice, as usual!
